    Conditional formatting with multiple/matching criteria.

I am looking to highlight a name in Q when R matches H:H and M=Per Diem. Bottom line is to highlight Per Diem employees in Q but the data on each row may or may not belong to the employee. The GMIN is what is common between both lists. One list has blue header and the other is gray.

For some reason it is highlighting the cells above the ones that should be.

It looks like you included the header row in the applies to range.

I only have a portion of the sheet. The blue header section is about 6000 rows where as the grey header is 1000 rows. Also the data in the original starts on row 3. I changed the formula to this but it didn’t work.

    =AND(MATCH($R3,$H$3:$H$6000,0)>0,INDEX($M$3:$M$6000,MATCH($R3,$H$3:$H$6000,0))="Per Diem")

The modified formula worked in the original sample file. In the actual file, did you apply the formula to Q3:Q1000?

I figured it out. Your formula was great. I was referencing the wrong column because I altered the example to condense the data. Switched the ‘R’ to a ‘V’ and it runs great. Thank you. I don’t know where I’d be without the help of you guys.
