Cell contents duplicated across width of cell

    Hi All,

I'm currently having an issue with some files I've downloaded as excel files from Google Sheets (I've posted the problem on google's forums as well, but with no solution as yet).

Essentially, I download the file (which looks fine on google), but when I open it with excel (or libre office calc), the contents of the cells duplicate across the display.

    For example:

    A1 | B1 | C1
    2 | 3.6 | =A1*B1

    would show as:

    222222 | 3.63.63.6 | 7.27.27.27.27.2

While I accept that this is most likely an issue with Google Sheets (I have the same issue if I download as an .ods file), does anybody know of any setting in excel itself that might cause something like this - or come across this before? It's still a valid excel file - is there anyway to fix the issue? I've attached an example of a file I'm having the issue with.

Select all the data on the sheet. Then use Home/alignment/Left (or centre or right) and it goes away.

totally weird. never saw that before...

Wow, thank you! Such a simple fix, I didn't even think of it. Hopefully google will fix the bug in short order (of course knowing google it'll remain bugged forever more).

A liucky guess, to be honest. I just noticed that d16 looked Ok. I copied its format to a few other cells - which then became fine. I noticed that theodd cells showed no alignment. So when I gave them one, it worked. i guess Excel was giving the cell all 3 alignments at one time!!
