Copying Cells containing Alt+Enter with texts from Excel to Word creates " " Keep Text Op.

    Hello Friends

Excel and Word Version : 2010.

While copying the cells from Excel which contains the text including Alt+Enter to Word will creates a Symbol "" in Word Keep Text Only' option.

For Excel in Excel A1 = X1alt+EnterX2 will produces as below by using pasting of `Keep Text Only' option.
    "X1
    X2"

Is there any suggestion to avoid this.

    thanks in advance.
    Sekar

Re: Copying Cells containing Alt+Enter with texts from Excel to Word creates " " Keep Text

This is to do with the way the Excel Alt-Enter is interpreted by other programs.

If you paste your X1Alt-EnterX2 into Notepad you'll get what looks like:
    "X1X2"

but if you then copy that and paste it into Word, you'll get:
    "X1 paragraph break
    X2"
which is what you get from pasting unformatted text into Word (as you've seen).

If you instead paste as normal into Word, you'll get:
    X1 line break
    X2

If you have to paste Keep Text Only then the only possible way to avoid this is to do something to the data in Excel before copying. Have a look at this thread: https://www.excelforum.com/excel-gen...-suppress.html - read from post 12 onwards for some suggestions.

If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
