    Exclamation Number formatting

    Hi all... need some urgent help with custom number formatting...

    Numbers to display with no decimals....Negatives within ( ) and zero to be displayed as a "-"

    the issue is when the values are between 0 and -.49 ... as these are displayed as (0) instead of "-"

    i tried the following.. but this displays the values between 0 and -.49 as "--"

    [<=-0.5](#,###) ;[>=0.5]#,### ; -

    Regards
    Chris

    Re: Number formatting

    Hi Chris and welcome to the forum,

    Based on http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/excel-cu...er-formats.htm

    The 4 different formats are separated by the semicolon character ";",
    The first is for Positive values, but you have [<=-0.5](#,###) . what if you leave out the [<=-0.5] ?

    I hope this helps and I understand the question. If not then please give a sample sheet with expected results..

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

    Hi Chris,

    Looking at your expected results, it looks like you want to Round() to the nearest integer before applying your format. Does that do what you need?

    Yes... but right now we have a lot of reports already developed and i want to avoid having to modify everyone of the reports... we do have global number formats defined... so would be ideal if we could use it
