At my work i was forced to upgrade to office 2016 a couple days ago and so far I hate it. I am having an issue with ALL of my workbooks and it is driving me nuts. Here is my problem:

I run daily reports every day of the week and each new day i just copy and paste the previous days report and then rename it to the new day. Then I delete the old data, paste in the new data and just hit "refresh all" on the pivot table. Been doing it this way for years without problem. Not so with excel-POS-2016.

If i do this now, when i hit the "refresh all" i am assaulted with messages:

Sorry we couldn't find '\\blahblahblahblahblahfilename. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted. When I hit OK on that message I then get:
Microsoft excel cannot access the file '\\blahblahblahblahblahfilename. there are sever possible reasons: The file name or path does not exist, The file is being used by another program, The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. When I hit OK fo this message I then get this next message:
Cannot open pivot table source file '\\blahblahblahblahblahfilename. and when I hit OK for this message it goes back to my pivot table and nothing has been refreshed.

If I select the pivot table and go to "Change Data Source" for some reason it is looking at the data source for the previous days workbook. Not a problem I can just change it to today's workbook, right? Not so, when I change it I am given the same dang errors above except this time it goes into some kind of loop and those same three messages are repeated about 20 times. that's about 60 messages I have to press OK through and then it just reverts back to the original data source from the day prior.

If I go to the DATA tab, the Edit links is grayed out, and there are no connections found. If i go to the Manage data model and show existing connections there are none found.

All these files are stored on this pc's hard drive, not on the onedrive and not on a network drive.

The only way I am able to continue reporting daily is to create a brand new workbook and rebuild the entire workbook every single day. As you can guess this really sucks for 9 daily reports. Anyone have any idea what is causing this problem and how to correct it?
