Hi. I am trying to copy 6 columns downwards by about 400 rows. I just select the 1st row then select the copy down marker in the bottom rh corner of the selection.
I get a message 'selection too large'.
I've got around it OK, by copying one column at a time, but what is the issue ? Is it just a question of memory ?
I have a reasonably modern PC, Excel 2007.

What do you have besides text and numbers in those cells? Possible, lots of formulas? lots of formats? lots of hidden or not objects?
It might be memory but more likely it is the complexity of what you are trying to copy.

Yes mostly formulae
and formats, conditional formats etc etc, it's a complex workbook
Suspect you may be copying to the entire column, not just 400 rows.
