Change text colour in Conditional formatting

Hi Guys, Once again I'm in need of help.

I have a summary report in a budget.
I have used conditional formatting to create colour bars
showing the percentage of actual value to budget value
    with both bar and text..

I want to have the text and gradient colour change if the
percentage value is more than 100%.
eg gradient colour is pale blue if percentage = 70%, text black,
gradient colour is denser blue if percentage is = 170%, text dark blue.

Not sure if this can be done, but would love to have it if possible.
Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Take a look at the Conditional Formatting for the attached.

Since code is not involved, no code posted here.

Thank you Logit, appreciate your response.
    I did try your formats.
But how do I code for various results?
I tried using logical operators ">=" and "<=" but I don't know where to enter them.
Is it possible to do this?

Re: Change text colour in Conditional formatting

    Provide more information ?

Say cell A1 contains 25%. You are wanting a Conditional Formatting to occur if the percentage in A1 is less than or equal to 25%.

The formula would be =<25% then assign the formatting as (color, font, etc) as required. (You can also write it as : <=25% )

    Same thing for =>25%

    or >25%

    etc.

There is too much information re: Conditional Formatting to be able to respond with everything here. Suggest you review this resource:

    http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html#Go_C

Click on +Conditional Formatting and go through the material / exercises.

If you have a specific question how to implement something in your project, ask away and we can walk through it.

Re: Change text colour in Conditional formatting

    Hello Logit,

I do understand some about conditional formatting, and am aware of contextures.

    I think you have misunderstood:
What I'm trying to achieve is different colour bars based on the resulting percentage.

I have two values from which to determine percentage, not one.
    (Budget$/Actual$)=%
    If % =>100 , then dark blue
    If % =<100 , then light blue

I was hopeful maybe someone knew how if it was possible to do this.
    However, maybe not.

Thanks for your efforts to date.
    Regards,
    Ron S

Re: Change text colour in Conditional formatting

I believe I understand what you are doing now.

After looking into Conditional Formatting for Data Bars, I don't believe there is a method to change the Font Color within Data Bar settings itself.

You could use another section of Conditional Formatting and apply a second rule to the cell.

    Resource :

    https://www.timeatlas.com/excel-conditional-formatting/

ps: If you are not referring to Data Bars, please explain further.
