My problem is related to linking data in an excel spreadsheet to a Word document. I use the same excel file however its re-saved with each month's name. I linked excel data to word however I had an issue updating the file next month because it was still linking to the prior months excel data. It seems like I would have to manually update links each month. If anyone has had any experience or can direct me to where i might get some more info it would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance.
One solution that is still not fully automatic, but it's better than relinking, is to have one master Excel file that has formulas which link back to the current month's file. Then the Word document links to the master Excel file. The master still needs to be updated, but that can be done using two methods:
1. In the master file, use Find & Replace All to update the formulas once a month.
2. Use a macro to update the formulas automatically

It is pretty special purpose so there is no recipe for it. I can help if you can share one of the monthly files as an example.
