I found some VB code online that let me do a macro for the same functionality. Thanks Everyone for looking at the thread. Matt.

Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
Yes, the text itself in the cells is in Spanish.
PS: Thanks for replying. Matt.
So it reads those in Spanish (per force), but it reads numbers in English?
It will read/say "imperfecto" as "im-PER-fect-o", "intentaba" as "in-TENT-a-ba", "intentarás" as "in-TENT-a-ras", and so on. All in an English pronunciation.
Thereby ruining any usefulness of the Speak Cells function for Spanish text. No one will recognize "in-TENT-a-ras" as "intentarás" (you/familiar will try).
Yes, it will say all numbers in English.
Thanks,
Matt
Dunno, Matt. Maybe someone else has a suggestion.
Hi shg,
Thanks for checking. I'm stumped as well. I tried replicating the problem in MS Word, just to see if the issue is application-specific, and the same problem occurs. Strange. There must be a straight forward way to do this. Probably something at the OS level. But . . I have not been able to get it to work.
Best,
Matt
OK. I think this is solved now. I could not come up with a solution for the Excel app itself. But I found some VBA code online that allowed me to do a macro that pronounces the Spanish text in Spanish.
