    Conditional Formatting

    I am trying to format some cells - I have an inventory or raw materials with their use by dates. I need the cells with the dates in (column C) to be green if it's over 30 days until that date, amber if it's within 30 days, and red if it's past that date.

    I have seen this on other threads and tried what has been suggested using conditional formatting, but it hasn't worked. I have formatted the cells to be in date format, DD/MM/YYYY

    Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm terrible on Excel.....

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting

    Try this

    Select C1

    Conditional Formatting
    New Rule
    Use a formula to determine...
    3 formulas required, in this order

    =(C1 > TODAY()+30)
    format as green
    =(C1 <= TODAY()+30)
    format as amber
    =(C1 < TODAY())
    format as red

    Format as required
    Use Format painter (paintbrush icon) to copy to other cells
    Regards

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Hi Special-K

    Thanks for your reply - I've put these formulas in, but it still doesn't work properly.

    It changes colour to Amber, no matter what date I put in?!! Not sure if I'm doing something wrong...

    Thank you

    Re: Conditional Formatting

    Works ok for me

    Maybe your dates arent really dates, maybe they are text.
