    changing the wild character *

    Hello everyone

Although the use of the wild character * can be very useful, it can be also very annoying. For example, in my field, genetic, the wild character has a very specific meaning. We can have text such as p.R175* that has a very specific meaning compare to p.R175H. I can also have *655 and 655 in a list with different meaning.
My question is simple, it there any way, to inactivate this feature in an Excel sheet such as * is not a wild character. That should allow me to work quicker without any mistakes.
I have look through the web and did not find any clue

    Thank you

    Thierry

I don't think you can change the wildcard characters. You can use the tilde to treat the asterisk as an asterisk

    p.R175~*
