    conditional formating excel 2002

    how do i word the formula in conditional formatting so that the colour of the text changes based on a table?
    it is a calendar and i have a list of holiday dates, jan 1st etc
    Thanks all
    table will have actual dates 1 jan 17 etc.

    New Year’s Day – Sunday, January 1
    Family Day – Monday, Feb 13 (Second Monday of February)
    Good Friday – Friday, April 14
    Victoria Day – Monday, May 22 (Monday before May 25)
    Canada Day – Saturday, July 1
    B.C. Day – Monday, August 7 (First Monday of August)
    Labour Day – Monday, September 4 (First Monday of September)
    Thanksgiving Day – Monday, October 9 (Second Monday of October)
    Remembrance Day – Saturday, November 11
    Christmas Day – Monday, December 25

    You are only dealing with 10 dates. Why not manually change the Text Color ? No need for a conditional formatting.

    Or am I missing something ?

    use the match function to test whether the test cell's date is found in the table list.

    With a list of dates to test for in T1:Tyour-cell,10, and the cell that you need to have CF applied to...
    1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to
    2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
    3. select new rule, select use formula
    4. enter =MATCH(Your-cell,$T$1:$T$10,0)...format fill your color
    1. Use code tags for VBA. [code] Your Code [/code] (or use the # button)
    2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
