Anchoring Named Cells + Custom Number Formatting

Hi Guys

I have 2 questions I need your assistance on please:

1) Is it possible to anchor a named cell (see my comment box in attached excel document). Perhaps I could use a certain function like search/find if this is not possible?

2) I am still having issues with custom number formatting (I have tried in vain numerous different combinations but cannot seem to get it correct - see comment box in excel doc attached). I am looking for a single custom number format that will NOT show the "," in front of the $50,000 (currently it is displaying the above cells correctly but when I copy the number formatting Cell B4 incorrectly displays $,50,000).

Why can't you select
format cells >numbr>currency under category>$ English(United States) under symbols

1. How about if you only use a range name on No_of_Lots, and not on the other cells?
=B2/Number_of_Lots
copied down

2. all those cells look to have the same appearance/format to me?

Hi Fdibbins

1) Thanks for the tip - I actually did this first and then renamed the cells B2-B4 afterwards using Ctrl + Shift + F3 (and I didn't get an error so all worked out well!).

2) The Cell B4 has a comma in front of the $50,000 so that was my issue with it, but I sorted it out though thanks!

This was one of my first thoughts but when I tried this I didn't have the comma. I have subsequently changed my entire settings to US (rather than South African which I had before) and the original custom number format now seems to work perfectly - appreciate your input though!

Funnily enough I was actually in Klerksdorp a couple month ago (there's a helluva lot of development going on for such a small town). How long have you been in the states? I'm moving to the East Coast in 6 months time on a study visa so looking forward to it - how has your experience been?
