    Batch Transpose

    Hello

Please find attached a sample spreadsheet. All the data are in the first column.

I would like to know how I can batch transpose all of them into respective columns for name, address, email, phone and so on.

The attached sample has two sheets; How it is and How I want

The master file has data from A1 to A104853

    Kindly advise

    Many thanks

    Re: Batch Transpose

If you enter the column name to which it belongs to after or before the data then it can be easily transposed like

    William C. Bovender - Name
Hunter, Smith & Davis - Firm
    1212 N Eastman Rd - Address
    PO Box 3740 - Address
Kingsport, TN 37664-0740 - City State
    Phone: 423-378-8858 - Phone
    Fax: 423-378-8801 - Fax
    bovender@hsdlaw.com - E Mail
    BPR # 000751 - Website
Practice Areas:*Product Liability Law; Litigation Commercial & Business; Health & Hospital Law; Labor and Employment Law; Litigation General Civil Practice - Practice area

like that you have enter after or before data for all the items then it can be fulled

    Re: Batch Transpose

It would have been relatively straightforward if each row in a block of data went into the next available column for a record. But taking records 1 & 5 as an example. How could Excel decide that with the first record the first item goes into column 3 but with the 5th record it goes into column 1?

Similarly with record 2, How could excel work out that the third item Franklin, TN 37064-2504 should go in column 6 and not column 5 which you show as blank.

Excel needs rules. It's not a human brain which is much more powerful and able to use fuzzy logic.

In that case, define all field i.e. Name,Title,Firm,Address,Address 2,City State,Phone,Fax,Email,Website, Practice Area in sheet "How it is". If some record Name or Titel not mentioning then required those row blank.
