Restrict vallues in column

Hi,

Is it possible to make a column restricted to certain words? I know I can do this by using the data validation list, but this is slightly irritating as sometimes the drop list arrow appears in the way.

Is there a way so that in column A, you can only write either "Asset" or "Peripheral", but if any other word is entered, an error message appears?

Wait, I solved this one, didn't realise there is a box with "drop down menu" next to the list when doing data validation
