    lock cells

Is there a way to lock cells... preventing the size or data to be changed?
I have a spread sheet template where i chance the data in the table but the three rows above the table must not be adjusted when i adjust column height for table.
I would like to lock the top 3 rows of my spread sheet

    Re: lock cells

Select the cells you want to lock, right click, go to format cells, go to protection tab and check locked checkbox, click ok.

Now, right click on the sheet name at the bottom of the excel, select protect sheet, then set the password, now you're data is locked and only one with the password will be able to edit those cells

    Re: lock cells

All cells on a worksheet are by default "locked." Seeing that you want the top 3 rows locked and the rest able to be edited, select all the rows from 4 downwards that you require to be unlocked. Right click in the selection and choose Format Cells. Click on the Protection Tab and deselect Locked (no checkmark).

Do all the editing and formatting that you want in the top 3 rows. When finished, go to the REVIEW tab and click on Protect Sheet. Deslect Select Locked Cells. Set a password and click OK.
