Question Unusual non-removable object on sheet

Ran into this previously and resolved it but cannot remember how or find anything out there on it. On one sheet I have a small white box I can't get rid of, even deleting the row or column just moves it slightly. This tell me it's somehow tied to the sheet, not the cell. When I zoom in as much as possible and click in the upper left hand corner it provides a small drop-down with years in it. The cell and surrounding cells have some conditional formatting applied, but only to change background color depending on the value. Can anyone shed light on where this comes from and how to eliminate it and keep it from recurring?

    Thanks,

    Greg

I'm not sure what you have there but if you goto Find & Select>Selection Pane you should get a list of all the objects on the sheet, hopefully this mysterious box will be there and you can select it via the list.

Re: Unusual non-removable object on sheet

Thank you very much Norie! Using the Find & Select>Selection Pane I was able to find it, but I couldn't select or delete it from there.

So I searched the forum and found a way to delete it through VBA. Voila! Gone.

It must have been a remnant from earlier days when I was trying various methods to put in a pop-up calendar that would work across multiple versions.

Not always an easy task trying to make something work all the way from Excel 2007 through 2016.

    Thanks again.
