    Excel Barcode Question

So here is my issue, I am running a spreadsheet for my company that generates a barcode based on the company ID imputed in a cell. I downloaded a font to change the cell into a barcode. Example =code39(E8) The issue is that once I send this document to be used by other people within organization they are unable to see the barcode. It shows up as Example: *1000001*.

Question: How can I lock the barcode in place so that everyone who receives it has a barcode in that cell? Additionally, it would be nice if this would also work on a tablet.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    Re: Excel Barcode Question

Simplest answer is to copy as an Image and paste it so that it retains its visual code.

Unless you build VBA to essentially be intrusive(Which is not recommended ever) you cannot expect a receiving party to see specialty fonts.

Good news about that is if this is a company code (Always the same) once you make an image out of it you can simply post/attach it instead of having to convert it all the time.

That is normal for any font, not just barcodes. You can only see the fonts you have installed on your device, this applies to desktop PCs, smartphones, and everything between.
Any text in a document that is not installed on the device will be shown in the default font.

Note that if the other device has a different code 39 font installed, the barcode could still revert to normal text.

If the person that you're sending it to does not need to edit anything, then try printing as PDF and send that instead.
