Copy part of a cell to another column cell

Hi

not sure how to explain this so heres an example

I have a worksheet with 2000 rows.

It has a colum named ChildsName and another named Notes this is for birth records so the system added *** where I typed Bast---- if you follow

The originator has in some rows added a note in brackets

ie John (*******)

Mary (Illegitimate)

I want to move the part in brackets to the number colum and delete the part in brackets

ie
ChildsName
John (*******)

to
ChildsName Notes
John *******

Is this possible?
