    Highlight rows with different dates

    Hi all,

If I have a number of rows with the same date in column A, then a number of rows with a different date, how do I highlight one group of dates with red and the second group of dates miss and then apply red to the next group?
Is there a formula or conditional formatting I can use?

    Thanks

Re: Highlight rows with different dates

It sounds doable. If you're trying to NOT highlight a specific date, you can use a Conditional Formatting rule along the lines of =A1<>7/11/2016. If it's more complicated than that, it'd be helpful to see a small sample workbook that clarifies what you're after.

    Like this...

    Data Range
    A
    1
    Date
    2
    8/1/2016
    3
    8/1/2016
    4
    8/1/2016
    5
    8/2/2016
    6
    8/2/2016
    7
    8/3/2016
    8
    8/3/2016
    9
    8/4/2016
    10
    8/4/2016

Select the entire range of dates

    Goto the Home tab>Styles>Conditional Formatting>
    Manage rules>New rule>Use a formula to determine
    which cells to format

Enter this formula in the box below:

    =MOD(SUMPRODUCT(--(A$1:A1<>A$2:A2)),2)

    Click the Format button
    Select the desired fill color
    OK out

Much clearer now, thanks! Tony's solution looks like it should do the trick.
