    Weighted Avg. for income of staff based on specialty.

    Hello friends, Hope all is well!


    Please open the attachment here, and please help me calculate the weighted average in Column L.

    The attachment:

    Includes:
    Staff name
    Specialty
    And 6 months of income generated by staff

    what should be the result and why (what is the weight)?

    please add the expected result manualy in your excel file and color the related cells with the same color.
    Notice my main language is not English.

    You want an average of columns E:J on each row? What would you be using to weight those values?

    Hi there, you could use something simple as this =IFERROR(AVERAGE(E4:J4),"0")

    That doesn't make sense.

    Here's an example of a weighted average. 5 people have an average of $100 , and 2 people have an average of $25. Taken together, the 7 people have an average of (5*100+2*25)/(2+5) = $78.57 I have used the number of people to 'weight' the corresponding dollar amount for the two groups.



    So, what numbers do you want in cells L4 through L7?
