    conditional formating

I have a report that one column applies color to a certain date range. This report is then copied into a new excel sheet.

My question is, I need those cells to stay in the same colors no matter when the new excel file is opened. Will the formatting change? If so, is there a way to correct this?

    here are my rules:

    Re: conditional formating

If you are using Today() in the conditional formula, then the applied conditional formatting will change depending on what day you open the file.

Maybe instead of using Today() in the conditional formula, have the conditional formula refer to a cell with the Today() function in it. When you copy to a new worksheet you can change that cell in the new worksheet to a static date, thus keeping the conditional formatting specific to that date.
