Select the cell then press control+1 you will get a window format cell-> then go to custom-> You will see an option Type -> paste ###### #### ### this at the same place and then ok.
Hope it will help you![]()

Thanks Ankur, this is the result I get however 6 901 019 206 088 even though I have entered ###### #### ###. It always defaults back to the # ### ### ### ### format.
Am I doing something stupid?
Peter
Maybe with a TEXT function
Assuming numeric values in A1
Formula:

v A B 1 6901019206088 690101 9206 088

Thanks for the suggestion Al, however I want to type the number directly into cell A1 and get the format as displayed in B1. Is that all possible?
Peter
Formatting also worked for me: ###### #### ### with Custom, so it should work for you too.
Edit: This format will work with 13 digit numbers only.
