workbook recovery

Help !

I have lost a version of a file I was working on when my PC shut down unexpectedly. The recovered document that appeared when I booted up was of a previous save and was missing data. I have tried looking in the user/appdata/roaming/microsoft/excel folder, but to no avail.

Does anyone know if this data can be recovered ?

The data entered after the last save is probably gone. If you are again offered a recovered document, use it and save.
Look in Excel Options, Save and note the folder for Auto Recover File Location. A file should be there if you have AutoRecover enabled.

To access the location you may have to turn on "Show Hidden Files and Folders" or some similar wording.
The location will be something like this C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\

If that doesn't work, find the file in File Explorer and right click and choose Previous Versions then open the last version offered.

Thanks. I already checked that folder but to no avail. I think the data is just gone. A bit disappointing as I have the autorecover set to every 2 minutes. heigh ho.
