    Sports League Standings and Schedule

I am trying to make a sports league standing sheet. I would like for it to update the teams record depending on the result of a game. I am sure this has already been created. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a picture of what i had in mind.

Perhaps you could explain a little more about this?

Are you purely looking to count the number of wins/losses?

What is the significance of the "1-2-3" in M4? Is that simply 3 wins? If so, is there a reason it cannot just say 3?

Most of the formulas in the sheet can just be filled down to accommodate more teams. Add new team names to H6, H7, etc. You'll need to change the range in G2 to accommodate all of your teams (currently it's R2:R5, extend it to cover all of your team rows) then fill down. Similarly, you should be able to 'fill down' to extend the formulas in columns W through AF down to cover your additional teams.

Would this be the same if I was to add more matches? I cant figure out how to add more matches.

Correct, sort of. Add more matches as you need to on the left. In order to incorporate those matches into your standings, you'll need to look at the formulas in the standings table (columns I through N) and change the spots in P/W/D/L/GF/GA where you see $13 to $WhateverTheLastRowInYourMatchesListIs. To make things easier on yourself, just change the $13 bits to something like $300 and you can add more matches at your leisure. I2, for instance, becomes:

    =IF(H2="","",SUMPRODUCT(($B$2:$B$300=H2)*($C$2:$C$300<>""))+SUMPRODUCT(($E$2:$E$300=H2)*($D$2:$D$300<>"")))

Confirmed with Ctrl + Shift + Enter, then filled down. Repeat for the other columns I through N (except the 'Draws' column).

Re: Sports League Standings and Schedule

Is there a way using rows of data to figure league position without using table? Been looking around for 2 days without any luck.

Column D and G are 'Matchday' and 'Group' I want those conditions to be met before values in CI:CJ (rank values for home and away teams) be ranked ahead of a matchday.

The closest I've come to a formula is this one (columns AB and AC) but it doesn't give the ranking ahead of the matchday which should be 1 to 4 (number of teams in the group/pool) rather it ranks the value amongst 24 other values:

    =IFERROR(INDEX(SMALL(IF((D2 = $D$2:$D$28981) * (G2 = $G$2:$G$28981), RANK.EQ(Z2, $Z$2:$AA$28981, 0), ""), ROW($A$1:$A$4)), 1), "")

    I'd appreciate feedbacks.
