Formula to extract information from cells, particularly information in a formula in anothe

Please give us some sample data and the outcomes you are expecting.

Perhaps A3-720 in Cell B3. I want to extract the 720 from the cell. What formula could somewhat simply retrieve the data in the formula aside from the cell reference?

Assume your data is in Cell A1, then in B1 type = Right(A1,3)

The only formula way that I know of would require a new function in Excel 2013 called FORMULATEXT. It returns the literal formula in the reference cell as a text string.

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.
