Relationships/Connection between cells

Hey all,

currently i'm working with excel 2007 and i would like to know if its possible to calculate relationships/connections between cells.

Right know i'm doing everything manually and its pretty time consuming. Here is an example of my problem:

Inventor A, Inventor B, Inventor C and Inventor D have published an patent together. And i want to get their connections between each other to work wihtin NodeXL and to create a network graphic.

Currently i'm strg+c and strg+v everything like this:

Inventor A - Inventor B
Inventor A - Inventor C
Inventor A - Inventor D
Inventor B - Inventor A
Inventor B - Inventor C
Inventor B - Inventor D

There must be a way to do this automatically, right?

In excel there is no built in functionality to generate combinations.
But you can find some add ins or VBA modules which could do this for you.
Note that in most of them you will find only:
Inventor A - Inventor B
pair and no
Inventor B - Inventor A
If you need it too be careful, because most algorithms treat these pairs as equivalent

Dublicates doesnt matter, cause nodeXL has a function to merge them. What addins are you talking about? Can you link them?
