    conditional formatting based on type of text

    I would like to give a particular color for all the texts which are in bold(excel 2013). Is there any way?

    I'm pretty sure VBA is the only way since a formula cannot determine the format of a cell.
    However, if the boldness is set via conditional formatting then just use those same conditions to set the colour.

    If all alpha characters in a cell are bold then try the following conditional format

    Formula: copy to clipboard 
    =CODE(LEFT(A1,1))<97
