Formula when drag should use horizontal values.

    Hi,
Please see the attached workbook. Allocation summary has a daily hours section wherein the allocated column has a logical formula, when the date selected from the drop down in the B column should provide a sum of hours for a particular person from the monthly workload sheet.

I am not able to get this formula for horizontal values. Can anyone help with this issue.

I see how your file works but I can't understand this: "I am not able to get this formula for horizontal values." What do you want your worksheet to look like?

Re: Formula when drag should use horizontal values.

    Thanks for your reply.

I am trying to create a resource allocation sheet (Monthly workload) for the entire one month and will be allocating daily hours for each person based on the work in the project (Numbers you see in the B column are projects). Daily 8 hours should be allocated, if not the summary tab should give the number of hours a person is free per day and also the allocated hours.

    Thanks for your support

    Regards,
    Stephen

the summary tab should give the number of hours a person is free per day
So in the "Allocation Summary" sheet, you show a table with names, a date, and hours allocated. Do you want a copy of that table for each day of the month? Or do you just want one table where you can change the date and look at one day at a time? I am still unclear as to what you expect this to look like when it's done, or what you meant in your original question about "horizontal values."

Yes, I want to change one date at a time for each person in the table and I should get the result for total hours allocated on that date from the monthly workload sheet. The date values are put horizontally in the monthly workload sheet

Re: Formula when drag should use horizontal values.

    Thanks for the inputs

But my requirement is to get the total number of hours allocated in a day for a particular person, when I select the date, the hours allocated should reflect for that date.

    Regards,
    Stephen

This version corrects the formula for allocated hours for a specific day.

Do you need other sums for the other categories (unallocated, leave)?
