Copy/Paste deselects cell (Excel 2016)

Hi,

When I copy a cell Excel de-selects the automatically.

Steps:

1. I select a cell
2. I Press CTRL+C
3. The cell is surrounded by that dashed border, meaning it's selected.
4. I move to another cell (using the cursors) in order to paste
5. The cell loses it's dashed border, which prevents me from pasting.

Excel was working fine until this morning.

If anyone can input on this, thank you.

Or could there be a problem with the Escape button on your keyboard?

I use an external keyboard with my laptop and sometimes I have papers on top of the laptop keyboard.

Since I posted this, I've been out of the office with the laptop, came back and the problem is gone.

You're probably right (how dare you).
