IE defaults, Can this be changed

I use excel 2007 and do a lot of web queries and download data. I know that excel defaults to Internet Explorer within itself. May, can I change that to a different browser to avoid the script errors and the recognize or not pop up function?

    Thanks in advance

Short answer: no. Long answer: IE has the object model defined, hence it is possible to write code to automate and manipulate it.

Just wanted to say thanks for the prompt response. I thought not but was curious.

There may be an option, but it's not native. So you have to download the Selenium VBA Wrapper. Ok, new to me so never tried it but it looks interesting. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-...-and-selenium/

And Google: excel vba object model for chrome

That said, it's one thing to open a browser window and quite another to manipulate it.
