    Vlookup and Hlookup Simple Questions

    I am getting confused on some basic V/HLookup questions, this IS a homework assignment so im not sure if people don't want to help based on that, but the wording on this is confusing me.
    What row does a VLOOKUP utilize?
    A. The one specified by the search term
    B. The one above the table specified
    C. The one specified in the third argument
    D. The first one
    My answer: C

    Q: What column does a VLOOKUP Search?
    A. The one specified by the search term
    B. The one left of the table specified
    C. The one specified in the third argument
    D. The first one
    My answer: A

    What column does an HLOOKUP utilize?
    A. The one specified by the search term
    B. The one left of the table specified
    C. The one specified in the third argument
    D. The first one
    My Answer: C

    What row does an HLOOKUP return?
    A. The one specified by the search term
    B. The one above the table specified
    C. The one specified in the third argument
    D. The first one
