Would anyone know how to enable a hyperlink on a locked cell in a protected sheet? Can't seem to make the hyperlink work unless the cell is unlocked - which I can't have.
Thanks!

Perhaps you can if you do this
With the sheet unprotected:
- use Data Validation on the cell - select "Custom" and enter formula:
<0>0
- unlock the cell
- protect the sheet
User can hyperlink, but cannot:
- amend the value in the cell (no values meet data validation criteria)
OR
- alter Data Validation (sheet protection prevents this)
A+
Thanks!
Works like a charm!
Unusual but effective.

I found this thread as I have the same problem. I followed the solution given here, and it works for one cell, but as soon as I make the same change in another cell the previous cell's link stops working. Essentially, the solution given here is only working successfully for one cell at a time. As soon as I make the change for another cell the previous link doesnt work anymore.
Looking to enable a hyperlink in a cell, the hyperlink is to a "defined Name" later in the spreadsheet. Excel 2013
When sheet is protected - I have been going around and around.
I have tried using a text field and all to no avail.

Understood. I am not experienced here. I am NOT looking at breaking ANY rules.
Thanks
No worries Paul. Just wanting to get you the most eyes on your query, and your own post is the way to do that.
This almost works for me except the data validation rule does not prevent the link from being accidentally deleted.
I was trying to achieve the following:
- Disable selecting locked cells
- Allow the hyperlink to be clickable (unlocked single cell)
- Not allow cell editing (data validation)
- Not allow cell deletion (don't know how to do without locking cell)
I don't see another way except making locked cells selectable.
