Good day everyone. I need a helping hand with Excel 2010. I want to use Excel to scan data with my barcode scanner and import it into my invoicing software. For it to import properly the part number must be in column a and the corresponding quantity for that part number in column b. When a barcode label (the part number) is scanned in a1, the cursor moves to the next cell on the right (b1). Into b1, I scan a quantity barcode (to assign a quantity) to the corresponding part number in a1. Then the process begins again with a2.

What I need is column a and b to be the only useable columns on the spreadsheet, and when column b is scanned the cursor goes to column a in the next row.

I have googled several possibilities and most of them were writing macros. This is above my pay grade. I tried to delete all the cells to the right of column b that did not work either. I tried locking the cells and for some reason that did not work either. Does anyone have a simple fix for this excel challenged guy?
