    Volatile Formula Query Help

Thanks to FlameRetired I have a formula which I can use to work out the maximum hours someone can work based on the dates they started employment as follows:

This formula works until I click on it. Then the { around the formula disappears and the result changes. I have recently moved onto Excel 2013 from 2010 so don't know if that is the issue.

I have listed a % of time worked in Column B and need to add it to the formula but everytime I try the formula corrupts and the results change to an inaccurate one.

The formula is listed as = volatile on Excel.

Any ideas what I need to do to stabalise the formula and add a simple multiplication formula to it?

    Re: Volatile Formula Query Help

The {} indicate that the formula was entered as an array formula. In other words, it was confirmed with ctrl-shift-enter (not just enter). When you edit the formula, you must confirm your edits with ctrl-shift-enter -- not just enter. That should be all there is to it.
