    Excel Matching

Say we have 10 columns on Sheet 1 of needed information.

We also have 10 columns of different information on sheet 2. Both sheets have one column in common which is ‘postcode’.

We need the information from sheet 2 to be on sheet one under the correct row. However the sheets are not sorted in the same way.

How can I move the 10 columns from sheet 2 onto sheet 1 but put them in the correct row with the matching 'postcode'?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Perhaps try the VLOOKUP function based on the postcode ?

Pepe - I'm not too clued up with Excel feature like VLOOKUP. Im aware they exist but not sure how to implement.

Sourabhg98 - Thanks for attaching your spreadsheet. I can't quite work out how I can use that. The coloumns on Sheet 1 and Sheet 2 are different for me and I need to keep all columns but have on one spreadsheet. Your example seems to have the same data on both Sheet 1 and 2.

    Re: Excel Matching

    Hi,
This is what the spreadsheet that I provided does-
On the input sheet you can enter your information of the postcodes and their respective information.
On the output sheet as you said you need all the information in some other order by matching the postcodes.
So, you can enter postcodes in any order in Column C of Output Sheet and all the information displayed on other columns for that postcode will be displayed.
So for instance you enter 5 in cell C2 in the output sheet, so cell A2 will show "l", cell B2 will show "y", cell D2 will show "i" and so on. You can match these values from Input sheet.
Like on input sheet we have postcode 5 in the 8th row. We can verify that A8 has value "l", cell B8 has value "y" and so on...
So basically all the 9 infos regarding postcode 5 are transferred to output sheet.

Similar to sourabhg98's suggestion the attached has data in sheet 2 differing from sheet 1. I am hoping it will make what sourbhg98's formula is doing clearer.
