Sumif Index match with multiple column same criteria

Hi so I am trying to get use the index match function so that all my rows in my one column labeled with specific things like "supplies" to then add up its corresponding row in the other column expenses this is what I tried to use but it is giving me an error: =SUMIF((INDEX($B$1:$B$400)MATCH("Supplies",$E$2:$E$400, 0)))


Any help?
