Elegant way to select a single row of data to define workbook-wide variables ?

I hope this is the proper sub-forum for this question. I'm using Excel 2010 Home/Student for a project that lists approximately 50 competitive swimmers (by name, in column B).
Columns C through Z have a variety of user-input and calculated values that I would like to define a set of named Variables that are used elsewhere in the Workbook.

I would like Column A to have a button that can be selected, and once selected, all other buttons are un-selected.
In other words, only one swimmer can be selected from the list, and that swimmer's data will be loaded into the defined named Variables for use in reports in other worksheets.

Is there an elegant way to accomplish this?

    Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum

It sounds like you need a Validation drop down cell form which you would select one swimmer. Then use the drop down cell as the first term in a VLOOKUP() function to get the data from a general table of swimmers and their details.

Hi Richard. I was hoping for a direct way to select the row of data, but your suggestion to use a drop-list will work.
    Thank you.
