Comparing different versions of same file: Macros.

Hi there, I am self employed, working at several different clients, frequently with use of a PC. I keep my Personal Macros in workbooks including personal.xlsb on a Folder in Google Drive. This I share with the Pc I use at each of my clients, plus my own Laptop and Desktop. That way if I write a new macro, or an improvement to an old one the improvement is usable at each of my clients. Also, my system is backed up.

But sometimes, Google Drive doesn't refresh quickly enough and a new version of Personal.xlsb or whatever is created in google drive as Personal(n).xlsb. If I take no action, the previous version of the workbook is opened, losing my improved/new macros.

Is there an easy way to compare the versions and extract the most recent version of the macro? Needs to be quick or I loose the efficiency this system normally gives me.

I don't use Google Drive so have no idea how it work but is there a timestamp column in the file list? Or in Excel you could unhide the 2 personal workbooks and check the properties which include the last modified date and time.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:

have you considered putting the file onto a thumb drive instead/as well?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
