Text to Columns Help

Hi:

I have the data listed below in a spreadsheet.

I need to separate the E210 from the remaining data. I want to have one column have just E210 and the second column to have the remaining number.

Also look to exclude the "/" out of the text. What is the best way to go about this.

hi johnsor. your header is another method you can use. and since you mentioned that, here is how it can work. assuming data in A2:A18. select them and go to Data tab -> Text to columns -> choose Delimited & click Next -> click on Other and key

click on next & you can select the destination. if you let it remain in A2, it will replace your original text. choose B2 & it will place E210 in column B and the rest in column C
