    splitting cell into 2 columns

    hi guys

    in cell c2 i have the following data - 6 ran TIME 4m 15.10s (slow by 34.10s) Total SP 115%

    in cell d2 i would like the number before ran - in this case 6

    in cell e2 i would like the time after TIME - in this case 4m 15.10s

    appreciate any help in advance

    It is difficult to generalise on just one example, but try this in D2:

    =LEFT(C2,FIND(" ran",C2)-1)*1

    and this in E2:

    =TRIM(MID(C2,FIND("TIME",C2)+4,10))

    =MID(A1;5;4)
    =RIGHT(A1;5)
    =LEFT(A1;4)

    use any of the formulas above it will copy the part of the cell you want so in the first anything after 5 characters from the left it will count 4 characters and show those 4 characters.

    the 2nd 1 will count 5 characters from the right and show them

    and the 3rd 1 will count 4 characters fromt he left and show them
