    Help with formulas

    Hi all. I would like to make a new sheet and add up hours in a roster as I go. I need to put in codes though, which will have how many hours it takes to do that code, which will add them up as I go. Something like...

    Y51 = 5 hours
    Y13 = 4 hours
    Y42 = 6 hours

    So when I just type in the code, it will add the hours up for me that the code takes to do it.
    It is for a rostering system. Can anyone please tell me how I can give those codes a number value, the rest I should be able to work out.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Help with formulas

    You can use vlookup
    a b c d
    Y51 5 Hours Y51 =VLOOKUP(C1,A1:B3,2,TRUE)
    Y13 4 Hours
    Y42 6 Hours
