Hello,
I am working with a set of data involving stock prices. What I am looking at is how a stock performs over a 20 day time horizon. However, if at any time the stock closes 10% or more below the price that I paid for it (the opening price), I would like to be "stopped out" or exit the position locking in the 10% loss on that day.
In my attached example I have included two lines of data, the first being how my document is currently set up. The second, are the results I would like (Columns F-Y). I have highlighted in yellow how I would like my data to look with the 10% rule. As you can see in the attachment, on Day 8 the price of the stock is greater than 10% below the price I paid for it. As a result, I would want to sell the stock on day 8. Since I wouldn't own the stock on day 9, I want days 9-20 to represent the loss that I locked in by selling on day 8 from the 10% rule.
In my document, Columns F-Y = Profit and Loss each day based on closing price of stock.
Columns Z-AS = The percentage gain or loss from the opening price of the stock (my purchase price)
Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.
I have iAttachment 423000
