How can i use index function to work out the values in the yellow boxes in the file attached such that i can change cell A1 (DROP DOWN) and it autofills the values in yellow cells d16:e17 ?

What do you want to be autopopulated in D16:E17? It's not exactly clear what you're trying to accomplish.
