    Querying data from the web

    Hey all,

I've never used the "get external data" feature in excel before, but I've got this immensely boring data entry task that I figured I would try this out on. So I need to go in to the UBS website and pull up a list of their offices and individuals. So go to this website https://www.ubs.com/us/en/wealth/fin...l-advisor.html and enter in a zip code (let's do Houston for example, 77001). It returns a few dozen records which can be sorted by branch, team, or individual. Then I need to get all of their data in one place so I can upload it to our company's CRM - Salesforce. The hard part is getting all of that data in to a format I can work with. Currently I'm just copying straight from the webpage and pasting it all in to a spreadsheet and manually going through and cleaning up the formatting and putting them in the correct order. Lots of copying, cutting and pasting.

I figured this could be the perfect job for the "get external data" feature. I'd go in, navigate to that web page and tell excel to pull the table down and give me the data, but unfortunately it just says that the query returns no information. Is there a different way to get this to work?

usu GET EXTERNAL DATA, is for a structured database (access, SQL, oracle), not from a web site where the data is hidden behind html and firewalls.

I suppose that makes sense. Too bad though. Thanks for your help!
