Using Pivot Timeline on Locked Sheet

I have a few Excel 2013 pivot tables that use a timeline slicer to change their date filter. I cannot change the dropdown that allows you to choose months, days, or years when the sheet is protected. This includes when I uncheck "Locked" in the timeline's properties, and allow users to perform all actions when applying protection. I can change the date slider, edit filters, use pivots etc., but that one date unit dropdown is greyed out. Is there any way around this?

You are not alone. I have the same problem. I too protected the sheet and systematically enabled every permission and still couldn't change the time increments in which you can view the data. Timelines don't seem to be fully baked. I also don't like that you can only select adjacent months, years, days, etc. It would be helpful to be able to compare points in time without have to do a full range.

Hi I have a same problem.. I have unlock the timeline slicer in excel however I am not able to select month/year/quarterly trend from the drop down. Is there any way to fix this issue?
