This formula is supposed to return "NO" if all three conditions are true but it doesn't seem to work. If one or all of the conditions are not true , it is supposed to return "YES".

If you don't have the quotes round the three instances of FALSE does it work as expected?

Take "False" out of the quotes and it'll work fine for you.
try:
=IF(COUNTIF(C2:E2,"FALSE")=3,"NO","YES")
