Optimizing cut to size parts-- Maximizing yield of lumber

    Hello-

I am trying to calculate the best cutting solution of parts with varying lengths (in inches) from stock material that I have a finite amount of (in feet). I need to find the best possible yield from each length of stock material based on the parts that are needed.
Some instances the most efficient length of stock material for an individual part may be the most efficient, BUT overall this may take away from the available stock for a different part and negatively affect the overall efficiency of the project.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
