Making Excel cell lists that correspond to other lists.

Hi All,

I have recently become familiar with making cells that have lists that are attached to them, so I am no pro.
I will try my best to explain what I want to do to my best knowledge, please excuse my terminology.
I will try to do this as a step by step thing:

First click on a cell that has a drop down list associated with it.

Click on something from the drop down

Click on a different cell that had a drop down list.
(The information in this drop down should be able to change based on what you chose from the original drop down list)

Last step is populating a different cell with information that correlates with what you close from the final drop down list.

I hope I explained this well and I hope someone can help me.

Here is an example using a data table with instructions. The table allows expansion in rows and columns and the drop down lists adjust according to contents of the table.

OK guys, I got it!!!

I never really did it exactly like how you explained but it works. Let me explain what I did. After I made the the first drop down list on one cell I continued to make another drop down list in teh sencond cell like I did the first time but instead in the source field I used the indirect() function. The argument of the function was the cell that contained the first list. I then made a table with 2 column. in a third cell I used the VLOOKUP() function to refer to this table to replace the item in teh cell accordingly. I hope I explained this well. I appreciate all the help you all gave me. Ill be back for more help if need be.
