Creating 4 groups of shops based on different criteria

    Hi,

Attached you can find a sample of the dataset that I am using to create 4 groups of shops based on different criteria. Does anyone have any idea how to create groups that are very diverse in size/turnover/and other criteria but that the 4 groups have approximately the same turnover (total turnover of the shops 10.8 million, therefore each group will have a turnover of approximately 2.7 million)?

    Hope someone can help me.

    Cheers, J

One method would be to allocate shops to the groups based on the ranking of the turnover, i.e. the groups would be made up as follows:

    Group1 ... 1 ... 8 ... 9
    Group2 ... 2 ... 7 ... 10
    Group3 ... 3 ... 6
    Group4 ... 4 ... 5

Where the numbers represent the rankings. Doing this manually on your file, you would get turnovers of 3267000, 3030000, 2275000, and 227600.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Re: Creating 4 groups of shops based on different criteria

I get your method but apart from the turnover I would like to also have a high diversity of the other criteria within 1 group. There is a diversity of shops with the following criteria:
    - urban / province
    - central / rural
    - number_floors
    - type_air_refresher
    - flooring_type
    - age_floor
    - age_interior
    - surface_store (m2
    - surface_warehouse (m2)
    - any many more criteria, about 100

Moreover I have to do this with about 100 shops so is there any sophisticated method to do this automatically?
